Prianjali is inspired by a sense of simplicity and exploration in her process of design. She believes that form follows function & likes to keep in mind the quote “Minimalism is not the lack of something. It is simply the perfect amount of something.” Driven by challenges, she relies on user experiences and intuition to draw insights that can transform a product into an experience.

She graduated with a masters in Industrial Design from DSK ISD International School of Design in Pune, India in 2011. After which she worked in Lille, France as an Advanced Designer for French sports brand Decathlon’s Central Innovation Hub and later for racquet sports brand, Artengo. During which she focused her skills on projects involving design research, user trends and experience, brand strategy & prospective product conceptualization.

In 2013, after close to 3 years in France, with a yearning for travel and new experiences, Prianjali decided to voyage to the ever-evolving, far-eastern metropolitan of Shanghai to join XD Design. She feels working with a culturally rich team creates a very stimulating environment. Having a wide variety of products is very refreshing and helps her be more sensitive to the production processes. In 2014, she received an IF Product Design Award for her B-Axis backpack.

The Pure bag range is one of her favorites for the challenge it proposed of making a nice quality bag in the simplest and most responsible way, while telling its own story. The bags are cleverly made using a single length of canvas. For her it was an interesting journey of experiments to identify the essential elements, materials, processes and of course to finish it with just the right amount of detail.
